JOB SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the company’s financial health through accurate reporting, compliance, analysis, and continuous improvement of finance processes. This role prepares financial reports, ensures statutory compliance (BIR, SEC, LGU), analyses key financial data, and provides recommendations to management.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making.
- Strengthen and improve financial and management reporting processes.
- Introduce automation and scalable finance workflows.
- Maintain full compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyse financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts and general ledger.
- Prepare management reports, variance analyses, and financial insights.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Closing & Reconciliation
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Perform account reconciliations (cash, payroll, taxes, credit cards, sales, etc.).
- Ensure all data reflects the final version of the financial statements.
Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of BIR tax returns, reports, and payments.
- Prepare and file SEC submissions and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare tax provisions, tax reconciliations, and ensure proper tax deductions.
- Handle tax notices, audit queries, and escalations related to statutory compliance.
- Manage business permit renewals and registrations.
Process & Systems
- Support automation, process improvement, and documentation of finance procedures.
- Maintain organised financial records and the team’s shared drive.
- Update and monitor merchant settlements, sales transactions, and related schedules.
- Upload tax documents through JuanTax and maintain system accuracy.
- Assist in improving ERP workflows and finance tools (Xero, Sprout, Hurey, etc.).
General Support
- Prepare weekly/monthly internal reports as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Perform ad hoc finance tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Participate in internal and external training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience in accounting systems (Xero, JuanTax, Sprout, Hurey, ERPs).
- Knowledgeable in BIR processes, tax returns, statutory payments, and regulatory filings.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and planning skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent time-management and organisational abilities.
